Cutting Costs, not Cutting Corners

You all know that House Revolution only charges £999+VAT to sell your home, irrespective of its value. This represents a saving of more than £2500 on an averagely priced home.

The significant difference between our charges and those of our competitors seems to provide ammunition for some to suggest that we’re cheap because we cut corners on service. That’s incorrect and could not be further from the truth.

We’re proud to announce that we’ve recently been shortlisted for the Customer Care ‘Plus’ award in the EDP Business Awards 2010. Doesn’t really sound like a company cutting corners on its customer service does … Continue Reading

We have been short-listed for a prestigious Customer Care award

House Revolution is thrilled to be able to announce the fact that we have been short-listed for a prestigious Customer Care award. We have been selected for this year’s Eastern Daily Press Business Awards and short-listed for the Customer Care ‘Plus’ award, sponsored by Aviva plc.

We were recently visited by the judging panel who spent time grilling our team on every aspect of our business and we now wait to hear further.

We are very proud that House Revolution has made the short-list, which in itself, is recognition of our commitment to customer service.

Value For Money…

Value for money – not a phrase you hear often during a conversation about many traditional estate agents – unless, of course, it’s preceded by the word ‘poor’.

They will charge you a percentage of the value of your home, which means the more your home is worth, the more they will take from you.

One of the reasons people feel that way is that it can be hard to see what you get for your money, particular if you are lucky enough to sell your home quickly, as you don’t get a … Continue Reading

Here we go again…..

At the first sign of positive sentiment in the property market, the agents are busy spending your money moving into bigger offices or refurbishing the ones they already occupy. It won’t be long before the ‘10 ‘plated BMW’s hit the streets – all for the benefit of you, the customer, of course…

David Cameron is urging us all to tighten our belts and look to save money wherever we can. Has this message not appeared in the Estate Agency trade press at all?

How is it that at a time when retail shop after retail shop is closing down on the high … Continue Reading

Where do estate agents go when they want to move ?

A good question and I might just have the answer.

A customer called me today to complement Jade, one of our lovely team. (if you have ever called our office you will know jade just by her laugh) Anyway he let slip in the conversation that he knew how difficult the housing market is right now because he was an estate agent.!

Sorry, rewind…. So to clarify, your a High Street estate agent using House Revolution?

This shocked me. Every day we battle against the High Street agents who try lots of tactics to try and convince customers that their high fees constitute … Continue Reading

Are there any offline agents left out there?

When I talk about House Revolution being an online estate agent, this can be perceived as a negative thing, but the reality is that, whether they like it or not, most estate agents in the land are now online agents.

Why do I say that? Well, as we’ve said many times before, more than 80% of property searches now begin online and 90% of those are on Rightmove. Therefore one of the key selection criteria when choosing your estate agent is do they list their properties on Rightmove?

Rightmove is the biggest online property portal in the UK. Estate agents normally list … Continue Reading

We’re proud to be the catalysts of change!

‘Down with Estate Agent’s fees’ – this has been my demand for the last few years. In a very ‘Virgin-like’ way, House Revolution has been throwing down the gauntlet to the old established organizations within this industry and we’ve created more than a few ripples along the way!

When I set up House Revolution in 2006, it was to make a difference to this industry and force it to change for the better. I’m proud to say that it is starting to happen and we’re happy to take the credit! How many adverts have to seen or heard lately where agents … Continue Reading

We just saved a customer £10,000

… which is great but not uncommon. Estate agents charge to much. Its soooo expensive for what it really cost yet every day hundreds of people pay thousands of pounds more than they need to. Why ? Why is there not more of an outcry. Watch the TV and its full of programs and adverts showing you how to knock £10 pounds off your gas bill or £30 pounds off your car insurance. Never anything about low cost estate agents fees.

What will it take to for people to challenge the cost and look for real alternatives? Got to work harder to get this message … Continue Reading
