When did you last feel let down

When did you last feel let down by an experience you had high hopes for?

For me it was Euro-Disney. Not because it was eye wateringly expensive, or that we spent hours queuing for rides that lasted seconds; nope, it was the service. Miserable, surly and nobody really cared!

The adverts promised an ‘amazing and different magical experience’. The reality was a lot different so I don’t want to go again. (My adrenalin junkie children feel quite differently.)

In business, if you set an expectation you should have ability to deliver … Continue Reading

important things to consider when choosing your estate agent.

ApplesThere are thousands of estate agents out there and if you are looking to sell your home  how do you to choose the best one, ergo what ‘selection criteria’ do you use ?

“House Sales” you say. Good answer, it is your desired outcome after all and most estate agents market themselves as sales experts so it makes sense but back up a minute. Let’s think about this. Surely selling my house is a ‘given’? I mean, if estate agents didn’t sell houses then how would they get paid and … Continue Reading

Why we are so for ’S.A.L.E’

FormulaWe created House Revolution with the express purpose of disrupting and changing estate agency for the better. Very pleased to report that it’s all going vet well. 260 Norfolk homes now sold saving our customers a combined total of £600,000 in fees or put another way, £2,200 average saving per customer!

The formula we use is called S.A.L.E. Let me explain;

S is for Success – Houses are sold using a correct mix of online property portals, personally managed mailing lists of willing buyers and the traditional marketing techniques such as … Continue Reading

Two more great bits of feedback

Two more very happy customers !

My experience with House Revolution was a pleasure from valuation to completion. The valuation was accurate and all the advice I received was honest, valuable and made the whole process run smoothly. The office staff kept me fully informed of every contact and communication as it happened. I felt fully informed and kept in the loop throughout. Even the stressful backwards and forewords of Solicitors questions was explained to me in detail which made it bearable. I believe House Revolution worked very hard for their fee and deserved every penny of it. I would definitely … Continue Reading

Another Happy Customer.

We have just sold our 250 property. Amazingly, in value terms that’s over fifty six million pounds of ‘stock’ and because we typically charge half the cost of the high street (sometimes even lower) to do the same job we have now saved our customers a total of £577,901 in traditional estate agent fees, or put another way, an average saving of £2,312 per property

Wow !

But whilst it’s great to talk about impressive numbers, saving money is actually the easy bit. We do it do for less simply by removing unnecessary … Continue Reading

Don’t fear the discount

The property market can be very strange. It is like no other I’ve ever worked in.

Normally, being able to buy goods or services at a discount is seen as a good thing. Evidence an electrical store halving the price of a flat screen TV in a sale and watch people fill their cars with them.

Even within the service industry – GoCompare.com and Confused.com make their living being able to find a comparable service at the cheapest cost.

Martin Lewis, the moneysavingexpert.com, created a community of people involved in passing on names of … Continue Reading

No price growth in May

Asking prices of properties new to the market have not risen in May – the first time in a decade this flat line has been seen. The average property asking price is now £243,759 – the same as in April, when they went up 2.9%.

Rightmove says it is unique in the 11 years that it has been in existence that new sellers in May have not raised their asking prices, and it warned that the market has lost its traditional spring momentum earlier … Continue Reading

As if proof were needed

As each month and year goes by, more and more people are taking to the internet to search for their next home and therefore more and more people are looking to sell their property via the internet. Selling your home on the web is no longer considered to be the territory of the brave few, it is the only way that makes any sense if you want to reach the biggest possible audience for your home.

In January of this year Rightmove announced record traffic to its web site making it seventh … Continue Reading

Interest in housing up but prices still down

Interest in the UK housing market edged up in March according to a new survey.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) said that, during the month, 9% more surveyors reported a rise in inquiries from potential buyers than those reporting a fall sighting warmer weather and the ending of the stamp duty holiday as possible reasons.

But with interest up, house prices in all regions (except London) continued to fall. The declines were modest, Rics said, with surveyors reporting price falls of up to 2%.

Asking prices for properties that have come on … Continue Reading

Changes to Energy Performance Certificate regulations

Changes to EPC regulations come into force Good Friday, April 6.

Under the new regulations an EPC must now be commissioned and secured within seven days of a property being marketed for sale with a further 21 days if the EPC is proving hard to secure, and the first page of the EPC must now be attached to estate agents property particulars.

The moves were announced by CLG minister Andrew Stunnell under the guise of eco-friendliness saying the package of measures would make energy information on properties easier to understand, which if followed could help customers save money on their fuel bills.

He … Continue Reading
